Labiaplasty Surgery in Mexico
At VIDA Wellness and Beauty / CosMed, we treat women seeking labiaplasty, a type of vaginal rejuvenation cosmetic surgery. With labiaplasty, the board-certified plastic surgeon eliminates excess tissue from the labia to improve the look of a female’s intimate area. Also, labiaplasty is an effective means of alleviating the physical discomfort that women with excessively enlarged or elongated labia often experience.
Our plastic surgeons also offer other vaginal rejuvenation treatment options, including clitoral hoodectomy, which is performed to reduce the size of an excessively large clitoral hood.
What Are The Benefits of a Labiaplasty?
The shape and size of a woman’s labia are largely determined by genetics. Other factors, including the aging process, pregnancy, and childbirth, hormonal changes, and fluctuations in weight, can also contribute to changes in the appearance of the labia.
No matter what the cause is, some women feel embarrassed or even ashamed of the look of their labia. They may feel their labia are excessively large, elongated, oddly shaped or asymmetrical, and seek surgical intervention to correct the aesthetic concerns they have regarding their intimate area. Other women seek labiaplasty to alleviate the physical pain or discomfort they suffer when engaging in certain activities, such as sexual intercourse or riding a bicycle, due to their enlarged labia.

Labiaplasty Recovery
Following labiaplasty, patients usually take about three days off from work or their everyday routine. During the first two days after surgery, bed rest is recommended. This is mainly to minimize any irritation that can occur as a result of walking or wearing certain clothing. Patients should wear loose-fitting clothes for one week following labiaplasty. They should use a sanitary napkin for a few days after surgery to protect their clothes from fluids. Women should abstain from strenuous activity, including sexual activity, for about six weeks.
Can I Walk After Labiaplasty?
Following a Labiaplasty, you will be able to walk briefly and with care. Your doctor will recommend that you take short walks after the surgery in order to prevent blood clots from forming. If this causes you discomfort, ask your doctor what you can take to decrease the pain. The first days after vaginal rejuvenation surgery you should be very gentle with your movements, from sitting down to walking and wiping after going to the restroom.
The majority of women return to work within a week of having surgery, at which point they feel more comfortable with daily routines.
Is Labiaplasty Painful?
Patients may experience mild discomfort throughout the treatment area. The treatment area may be bruised, swollen or slight bleeding. These are normal symptoms that should subside over time. In the meantime, taking oral pain relievers and applying an icepack to the treatment area helps alleviate symptoms and minimize swelling.
Although some of the results of labiaplasty are apparent immediately, it takes about one month for the final results to become fully actualized, as this is how long it takes all residual swelling to subside.
